Cuisine de Méditerranée

In the last few weeks I tried to bring my recipe for sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil closer to perfection. I started with recipe #29321 from the recipe collection of the UNIX-AG at the University of Kaiserslautern. And this is how far I got. Enjoy your meal!

70 g tomatoes, sun-dried
¼ onion, minced
6 cloves of garlic
2 tb balsamic vinegar
2 tb water
5 basil leaves
¼ tb salt
6 ds Tabasco sauce
olive oil

Cut the sun-dried tomato halves into six pieces each. Put into a jar adding onions, crushed garlic, vinegar, water, chopped basil leaves, salt, and Tasbasco. Pour in the oil until everything is covered. Mix thoroughly and let it steep for a day before consumption. Keep in the fridge.

Word Of The Day III

I found this one over at heise.de today:

(to) wikle: Quite similar to “(to) google” this means to search a term in open content encyclopedia Wikipedia.

“I had to wikle Alvis Cars, I’d never heard of them before.”
