Adrian already agreed with Herr Renz, but I’d like to use the opportunity to express my resentment about the current political discussion here in Germany, which is at the bottom of the Unwort “Abwrackprämie“. Not only Herr Renz is right, but also Knut Simon, who is dealing with this issue over at Carsablanca.

Today I’m electing my own creation Word Of The Day:

semi-crap: a good idea in itself, being totally mistimed in that situation

“Friday afternoon, 40 minutes before quitting time, it’s been semi-crap to tie up the whole software project by this small change of code.”

I found this one over at heise.de today:

(to) wikle: Quite similar to “(to) google” this means to search a term in open content encyclopedia Wikipedia.

“I had to wikle Alvis Cars, I’d never heard of them before.”

Relating to some university officials a term came up at our lunch table, which is used far too rarely in my opinion:
